One Hundredth Day Project

Just wanted to share my granddaughter's 100 day project they did in their homeschool yesterday. There's lots of ideas floating around for these projects, and this is another one that she, mom, and little sister did together. They thought up the idea themselves, and it's a basket of flowers with one hundred things she's learned so far. It's also a basket of blessings if you ask me. What a fun project it was!

Nigerian Special Children

Something for you and your children to pray about. There are so many youngsters around the world in need of prayers and sometimes there may be other ways to help. Just a little more info on happenings in Nigeria. Please read this article at the Persecution blog, perhaps during family devotions where you can talk and pray about it as a family.

Duty of Fathers

If you fail, father, to teach your son to fear God, the devil will teach him to hate God. If you fail to teach your son to guard his mind, the devil will gladly teach him to have an open mind. If you fail to teach your son to obey his parents, the devil will teach him to rebel and break his parent’s heart. If you fail to teach your son to select his companions, the devil will gladly choose them for him. ~ John MacArthur

Pilgrim's Progress for Kids

I just ran across this and thought perhaps some might want to look into it further. We're big fans of Pilgrim's Progress at SG, so anything that looks promising we like to pass on. These are workbooks in either paperback or PDF form. So check it out further here.

Little Girl Sweetness

The Lord has blessed us with girls. Seems God has determined we have a lot of the female gender for offspring here. So, after raising two daughters, we now have three granddaughters, pictured above with their "Auntie Nee," our younger daughter. SO any article directly speaking to raising girls in today's society gets my immediate attention. And this article did, so I thought I'd share with no further comment except to say it's well worth reading.

Oh and by the way. Today is our youngest granddaughter's birthday. One whole year of life. Happy birthday, Gracie!

Thomas Ken, a Christian Hero

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Do your children know these words? No doubt they’ve sung them at church. Do they know anything of the man who wrote them? His name was Thomas Ken, who lived in the years 1637-1711. This would be a nice homeschool research paper for them, as well as Christian History project: Let them find out all they can about this man and his musical contributions to the Church. Let them study his childhood and his later trials in the time in which he lived in England. Let them learn about this unsung hero. I think they’ll benefit.

Children Need Parents

So true. Boys and girls need parents who will not only guide them from physical dangers, but physical. May the Lord give guidance and strength to Christian parents, especially in our day.
