It's really important that our children not forget the difficulties that Christians face in many countries.

What is It?

There is something that you possess one at a time.
Your parents have had it more often than you have.
Each time you have one, something goes up and then down while it is with you.
Something else travels in a circle twice by the time it leaves you.

"Cute. Already housebroken," the advertisement promised. "Eat almost any food you put in front of them. Love children." 

Isn't that funny? Do you get why it's funny?

Speaking of Parties...

Wow. I love this idea for anyone who has a decent sized yard. Your yard doesn't need to be huge, just have a fair amount of space to do this. Have a "Summer Camp at Home Retreat Party!" You can easily incorporate Christian ideas if you'd like to do this for your Sunday school class or Bible school class as a followup to VBS. Or, of course, as a birthday party for your child/ren. Fantastic craft ideas, and I love the teepees!! Wish I had this idea when my kids were small. Take a look at this idea here and adapt it to your needs!!!

Being Thankful

It's a rather sad thing, but one thing lots of people are noticing these days is that people are not as thankful as they used to be. Perhaps it's because we have too much? This is especially true if you live in a country like America where food and clothing and other things are more plentiful.

I hope you are teaching you children about the importance of gratefulness to God and others. The current excerpt from our Bright Gems book is the one from the Day 23 devotionals on being thankful. We hope you'll read it and be encouraged to commit to instilling this important quality of character in your youngsters.
